A deposition workspace that joins Zoom calls, transcribes testimony live, points out answers that don’t line up with the record, and turns every session into a summary with flags.
The product already detected contradictions in testimony, but none of it was visible. The dashboard showed identical scheduled depositions, and attorneys still relied on memory and hours of rewatching.
The opportunity was to bring what the system found into the moments attorneys needed it: while the witness was talking, and when reviewing afterwards.
Contribution:
Led the redesign from product definition and scoping through interaction design and a clickable prototype, taking it through to development handoff.

The challenge
Make the product’s core value visible. Every screen needed to lead with what was found, without overwhelming an attorney in the middle of a deposition.
Constraints
Legal work. Imperfect AI.
The model can be wrong, and a false accusation in a legal setting is costly. The design could never present a signal as a verdict.
Approach
Point to answers worth a follow-up, show the earlier statement alongside, and let the attorney decide. Keep scheduling, live sessions and review in one calm, predictable layout.
Pointing out answers worth a follow-up
When an answer doesn't line up with an earlier statement, it's marked in the live transcript with the earlier statement right beside it. Signals are framed as prompts to ask again, never as verdicts about the witness.

Comparing statements side by side
Each flag opens to show the earlier statement next to the new one, with timestamps, so attorneys can judge the conflict for themselves before deciding what to ask.

Making the product's value visible
The dashboard showed identical scheduled depositions and nothing about what the system had found. The overview now leads with what matters today: what's live, what's next and which sessions have answers worth reviewing.

Scheduling depositions through Zoom
A three-step flow sets up the witness, case and time, creates the Zoom meeting and invites attendees. Emotize joins early and records, so there's nothing to set up on the day.

Following testimony as it happens
The transcript streams in during the deposition next to the video. Attendee filters and transcript search help attorneys find a moment without losing their place.

Reviewing a session without rewatching it
Each session becomes a short summary and a list of flags, each with a timestamp, the quote and the reason. Markers on the recording let attorneys jump straight to each moment.

Bringing past depositions into the same workflow
Uploaded recordings go through the same analysis, with progress shown as it runs and flags appearing as they're found. Details are filled in from the file, so the upload takes seconds.

Accounting for edge cases
First-time use, empty cases, sessions with no flags, unclear audio and dropped Zoom connections. Each state explains what happened and gives one clear way forward.
